Bio
Lindsey has been working as a lens-based artist and freelance photographer since 2008. She has a passion for traditional processes resulting in beautifully crafted photographs, designs and artist books. She received her BFA in Photography from Emily Carr University of Art + Design, in addition she studied Visual Communications at Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland. Currently based in Winnipeg, she has been fortunate to have lived and worked in many Canadian cities including: Vancouver, Calgary + Edmonton... that's just the beginning!
Lets talk cameras! The Canon F1 camera was Lindsey's first camera (given to her by her father). This camera has set the stage for many of Lindsey's creative endeavours throughout her life. To this day, she still has a soft spot for film cameras. Her vintage 501 Hasselblad is a primary camera in her art practice (www.lindseybond.ca) and she still uses its waist-level shooting aesthetic in much of her freelance work too. Lindsey finds the process of photographing more enjoyable when she can make eye contact with her subjects, this means there isn't a camera in front of her face, rather in her hands.
